Connectivity Agenda: Construction contract for Tarcin-Konjic section, subdivision Tarcin- tunnel Ivan signed

Today, a construction contract for Tarcin-Konjic section, subdivision Tarcin- tunnel Ivan was signed at the headquarters of the JP Autoceste FBiH (Motorway of the FBiH). The value of the contract for the construction of the Ivan Tunnel is EUR 57.6 million, and the funds were secured through a European Union grant of EUR 11.4 million, under the Western Balkans Investments Framework (WBIF) Connectivity Agenda and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the amount of EUR 50 million.

The Tunnel is designed to be constructed according to the New Austrian Tunnel Method (NATM) and the estimated construction time is 30 months.

In addition to the activities related to the Ivan tunnel, JP Autoceste FBiH has issued a Call for Proposals for the construction of the motorway on Corridor 5c, Tarcin-Konjic section, subdivision Tarcin – entrance to the Ivan tunnel. The length of this subdivision is 4.9km, and the most significant object on the subdivision are the Rastelica 1 bridge and Rastelica 2 bridge with the length of 609 maters. Two rest areas are also planned at this subdivision. The construction of this subdivision will be funded by a European Union grant of EUR 11.7 million secured under the Western Balkans Investments Framework (WBIF) Connectivity Agenda and EUR 50 million secured by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
