High Representative Meets Speakers of BiH
Parliament

The High Representative, Christian
Schwarz-Schilling, will hold a meeting, today,  on with the
speakers and deputy speakers of the BiH House of Representatives and
the BiH House of Peoples. This will be Dr. Schwarz-Schilling’s first formal
meeting with BiH officials since taking up his mandate. 

In his talks with the parliamentary speakers the High Representative
will make it clear that the future of this country must be decided by its
own citizens, through the Representatives they elect.

High Representative to Chair Roundtable on BiH Civil
Society

The High Representative, Christian Schwarz-Schilling, will chair a meeting of
activists from BiH Non-Governmental Organisations which are involved in getting
more citizens to participate in the political process.

Since arriving in BiH to take up his duties, the High Representative has
called on BiH citizens to take control of their future, not just from the
International Community but from the small number of professional politicians
who dominate public debate. This can be done if citizens start to make their own
priorities clear to those who seek to be elected to public office – rather than
allowing the political agenda to be dictated by party leaders.

Announcement of the SDHR farewell visit

I would like to announce that the SDHR Martin Ney will visit Mostar on Friday
February 3. However details of his visit will be announced by end of the week.
