OHR’s Statement at the International Agencies’ Joint Press Conference in Mostar


PDHR to Visit Mostar &
Trebinje




The Principal Deputy High Representative, Larry Butler, will
pay a two-day visit to Herzegovina on Thursday 25 August and Friday 26 August.
Ambassador Butler will be briefed by Cantonal and Municipal officials on steps
that have been launched with a view to improving the quality of administration
in the region and improving the business environment. He will also hold talks
with regional entrepreneurs and with judges from newly formed Commercial
Chambers in the region. The focus of these talks will be on removing roadblocks
to inward investment and improving the prospects for business expansion and job
creation in BiH.



At the beginning of his visit Ambassador Butler will meet the
Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Prime Minister Miroslav Coric and the Cantonal
Ministers of Economy and Justice.



Ambassador Butler will visit Mostar city officials at the City
Administration. Among the topics under discussion will be the progress being
made in unifying the city’s administration.



Later in the day Ambassador Butler will visit the Commercial
Chamber of the Municipal Court in Mostar, after which he will meet entrepreneurs
from the region to talk about the challenges they face.



On Friday 26 August, Ambassador Butler will meet the mayors of Eastern
Herzegovina. Top of the agenda will be a discussion of the urgent need to
improve the business environment so as to attract investment and create
jobs.
