HR/EUSR Welcomes Ukrainian Commitment To BiH

The High Representative and EU Special Representative, Miroslav Lajčák, met the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kostjantyn Yelisjejev, in Sarajevo today.

The High Representative and EU Special Representative briefed the Deputy Foreign Minister on the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina focusing in particular on the country’s EU perspective. The HR/EUSR underlined that the country is on the threshold of signing a Stabilisation and Association agreement with the European Union.


The HR/EUSR welcomed the Ukraine’s intention to remain a partner in BiH though a focus on strengthening trade and economic relations.


The High Representative and EU Special Representative thanked the Deputy Foreign Minister for the Ukraine’s long standing engagement in the Western Balkans and in Bosnia and Herzegovina in particular.
