Ambassador Kourkoulas met with Minister Sadovic to discuss implementation of the Road Map for Visa Liberalisation

On Monday, 26 January, 2009, Ambassador Kourkoulas, Head of the European Commission Delegation to

Bosnia and Herzegovina, met
with BiH Minister of Security, Tarik Sadović to discuss the
implementation of the Roadmap for the Visa Liberalisation. Ambassador
Kourkoulas stated that he was pleased with the cooperation with BiH
authorities in the implementation of the Road Map underlying there was
still much to be done in the fields of fight against corruption and law
enforcement services.

Ambassador Kourkoulas also reminded of four European Commission
Expert missions to be carried out during the month of March, looking
into security of breeder documents, border management, migration issues
and Law enforcement, including organised crime and anti- corruption.
Upon completion of those missions, another technical meeting, where the
results of the expert missions’ assessment will be discussed, will be
held between European Commission and the Visa Liberalisation working
group and the way forward will be presented.

The European Union financial assistance for the currently ongoing
projects with the Ministry of Security as beneficiary amounts to 18. 4
million euro while another 5.4 million is being planned.
