Europe Day celebrated in Sarajevo with the first BiH musical for children and adults

After the successful basketball tournaments in Mostar, Tuzla and Banja Luka, the EU Delegation to BiH/EUSR and the EU Info Centre celebrated the 9 May – Europe Day today in Sarajevo with the musical “DJ Sampinjon: Top of the World”.

This is the first BiH musical for children and adults written and directed by Muharem Vojniković Muha; it promotes art, culture, ecology and human rights through music, dance and entertainment.

It was held at the International Centre for Children and Youth in front of more than 300 children from the institutions for children without parental care as well as children from ten elementary schools in Sarajevo and Eastern Sarajevo.

Ambassador Peter Sorensen, Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative, welcomed the children and wished them happy Europe Day: “Today is the birthday of the European Union and on this very special occasion we wanted to treat you with this extraordinary musical. “

The celebration was also joined by the Mayor of Novo Sarajevo municipality, Nedžad Koldžo.

After the play children had the opportunity to spend time with the actors from the musical at the party that followed.

The European Union in BiH is strongly committed to improving the situation of children, particularly fighting discrimination and promoting inclusion of all children with disabilities into society.
