EU Reportages: Twenty years of Austria’s EU membership – a period of economic growth

During the twenty years following Austria’s accession to the European Union the country has experienced a period of economic growth. Since Austria’s accession in 1995, exports and foreign investments have tripled, the unemployment rate has been significantly reduced and 18,000 new jobs per year have been created.

An FTV reportage explores the advantages and benefits of Austria’s EU membership, and lessons learned on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its EU accession.
