On 28 November 2007, EUFOR Commander Rear Admiral Hans-Jochen Witthauer paid a farewell visit to Ambassador Dimitris Kourkoulas, Head of Delegation of the European Commission to BiH. They reviewed past and future coordination and cooperation between these two branches of the European Union’s presence in BiH.

Ambassador Kourkoulas expressed his appreciation for the valuable contribution of EUFOR in promoting stability in BiH. He also congratulated Admiral Witthauer for his personal contribution to the success of EUFOR’s mandate as well as for his commitment in promoting EU values in BiH.

Rear Admiral Hans-Jochen Witthauer will complete his term as Commander of EUFOR on 4 December 2007 and will hand over to General de Division Ignacio Martín Villalaín of the Spanish Army.
