Kids Festival 2009 Opens

The Sixth Kids Festival started on 12 June in Sarajevo. A colorful Parade started at 15.00 hrs from Baščaršija, the old part of the city, inaugurating the Festival. The Parade was led by the Military Band of the BiH Armed Forces and majorettes from Kiseljak and Mostar. Guests from abroad also participated, including magicians from Spain and Germany, an orchestra from France and other performers and friends of the Festival.

“The parade was a surprise we introduced this year,” “It has around 500 registered participants and we believe that this is not the final number.  The Kids Parade reflects the slogan of this year’s Festival: “All different, all equal”, said Festival spokesperson Haris Bilalović. He also thanked the European Union, one of the main sponsors of the Festival.

The Parade went through the centre of the city and ended in front of the Zetra Olympic complex, where the first projection of the film, “Alvin and Chipmunks” started.

The Kids Festival will last until 17 June 2009 and visitors will be able to enjoy freefilms, educational-fun workshops and different kinds of performances.
