The official launch of the EU funded project “Support to BiH Water Policy” providing technical assistance to BiH water management authorities in fulfilling the EU environmental requirements, will take place on 3 December 2009 at 10:30 at the Hotel “Bosnia” (Kulovica 9), Sarajevo.
The overall objective of the project is to ensure the protection and rational use of water resources in BiH by application of integrated water management principles in accordance with the EU standards.
The Project is funded through the IPA 2007 programme and implemented by an international consortium lead by PM Group from Ireland. The value of the project is 1 million EUR, with duration of 2 years. Beneficiaries are BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, respective Entity Ministries and Department of Brcko District government responsible for water management and environmental protection, as well as Water Agencies. The project will also secure adequate involvement of cantons, municipalities and villages, water utility companies, industry, agriculture, NGOs and public.
