Council of Ministers Must Not Hinder Visa Liberalization Dialogue

High Representative and EU Special Representative in BiH, Valentin Inzko, Head of the EU Police Mission to BiH, Stefan Feller, and Charge d Affaires of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, Boris Iarochevitch, have sent a letter to Council of Ministers Chair Nikola Spiric regarding fulfillment of outstanding conditions within the visa liberalization process.

At its session, held on 14 July 2010, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not adopt the Rulebook on Internal Organization and Systematization for the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina which is a condition in the dialogue for visa liberalization. The inability of the Council of Ministers to adopt a rulebook could delay a decision by the Council and European Parliament on visa liberalization for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

To prevent undesired outcome we remind and urge Council of Ministers to secure agreement for Rulebook adoption before 31 august, which in the framework of the visa liberalization process, is the dead-line for Bosnia and Herzegovina to provide the European Commission with updated information in the form of a written report.
