A European Council meeting on EUs relations with strategic partners was held in Brussels yesterday, 16 September. Ahead of summits with key partners, EU heads of state and government agreed that it was necessary to promote the EUs values and interests more assertively and, in general, for the EU to be a more effective global actor.
