As a part of the EU Week activities that are taking place across BiH on the occasion of Europe day, 9th May, a ‘Volleyball Tournament for Disabled People’ took place in Mokro on 4th May. The tournament included teams from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and marked the beginning of a tour by an EU Van that will visit 20 BiH cities over the next 13 days.

A major goal of the tournament was to increase public awareness of the needs and abilities of disabled people as well as raising awareness of their rights and other issues. A volleyball team from Zavidovići won the cup. Other teams were rewarded with symbolic prizes.

The players received extensive cheerleading support from citizens and students from “Mokro” primary school, who took the opportunity of the presence of the EU Van to get information on topics related to EU integration.

The tournament was organized by European Movement in BiH, with the support of the Delegation of the EU to BiH and the Directorate for European Integration with BiH Council of Ministers.
