The Office of the European Union Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUSR) launched for the second year in a row a unique project for youth symbolically named ‘EU for You – E4U’, engaging students from the entire country in talking about issues that matter to them and the EU integration process in BiH.
Within the E4U project, undergraduate students from 14 public universities/faculties from BiH together with their academic mentors and media and PR experts will develop public campaigns that illustrate their perception of socio-economic reforms, focusing on education, employment and entrepreneurship initiatives .
The first in a round of Info Days was organised today at the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Economics under the slogan ″Turn the Lights on for Youth in BiH″. More than 150 undergraduate students from the Faculty of Economy, Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo and Faculty of Agriculture from Istočno Sarajevo came to the Info Days.
The European Union Ambassador in BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark and the Ambassador of France in BiH, Guillaume Rousson, talked to the students.
″I know it is not easy to be a young person today. We – your parents, your teachers, and the society in general – ask a lot from you. We ask you to be well educated; open and curious; ambitious; married with kids; independent – yet receptive to our own views and attitudes; full of creative and fresh ideas; considerate and caring. But you know the best what works for you. That is why with this project we hope to give you unique communication channels to let the entire country know that you have the power to speak and look for solutions to the many challenges you face today,″ Ambassador Wigemark said.
Ambassador Guillaume Rousson expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to speak with students and share his country’s experience as one of the EU founders.
This is the second year in which the European Union has been implementing the project ″E4U″ intended for students from across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project will last until Spring 2018, when the best students’ campaign will be chosen, and the winning team awarded with a study trip to Brussels.
