Registrations open for the 3rd edition of Startup Europe Summit organised in Sofia

400 key European startup ecosystem players will gather in Sofia to support a stronger CEE tech scene

The European tech community will meet key decision makers from the European Commission and international governments during Startup Europe Summit on 15 November 2018, at Inter Expo Center Sofia.

The Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region continue to face challenges that prevent startups from realising their full potential due to fragmentation of effort, red tape, under-investment and low maturity of startup ecosystems.

Supported by Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, Mariya Gabriel, Startup Europe Summit 2018 (SES18) looks to create a dialogue about concrete ways to scale up across the EU and connect the CEE startup ecosystem builders. As stated in the Digital Agenda for Western Balkans, SES18 will be the gateway for the startup players of this region to participate in Startup Europe’s networks.

The event features high calibre sessions highlighting startup success and potential of the region, access to finance and skills opportunities and actions to improve framework conditions for startups.

First editions of the summit brought together top entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and international tech giants like Spotify, UBER and Stripe, as well as key policy makers such Commissioners Neelie Kroes, Günther Oettinger and Carlos Moedas.
