The European Commission will adopt its annual Enlargement Strategy and progress reports for the countries of the Western Balkans and Turkey on Wednesday 8 October. The Enlargement Strategy will summarise what has been achieved over the last 5 years in this area and outline the key elements of the enlargement policy for the coming period. The progress reports for the seven candidate countries and potential candidates will assess the work done by them over the last 12 months in order to advance the reforms and to continue with transformation in line with the EU criteria.
