Gender Country Profile for Bosnia and Herzegovina published

For the EU, gender equality is not only an aim per se, although it is a fundamental human rights issue, but also a precondition for sustainable development and durable peace in society.

Within this context, the Gender Country Profile for Bosnia and Herzegovina, conducted in line with the European Commission (EC) Priority Areas of Development Cooperation and following the EC Communication on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment in Development Cooperation, was published today.

This profile and its conclusions and recommendations will serve as a basis for future EU actions in the country through European Union financial assistance Instruments (IPA – Instruments for Pre-Accession Assistance and EIDHR – European Instruments for Democracy and Human Rights).
