In July 2013, the European Commission adopted a decision to allocate 2 million € for “Sarajevo 2014”. The programme has the objective to contribute to making 2014 a year of remembrance in Bosnia and Herzegovina conveying European values of reconciliation, diversity and the commitment to face challenges together.

The programme entails two components: a direct grant to the foundation “Sarajevo, Heart of Europe” and institutions of the EU Member States; and grants for non-profit civil society organisations and cultural actors from candidate countries or potential candidate countries of the Western Balkans as well as from the EU Member States.

The Call for Proposals for “Sarajevo 2014” concerning the second component was published yesterday, 10 October, on the webpage of the EU Delegation to BiH.
