Head of Delegation/EU Special Representative Peter Sorensen today attended the funeral of 409 victims of the genocide in Srebrenica at the Potocari Memorial Centre. The occasion was also the 18th annual commemoration ceremony.
Ambassador Sorensen said:
“The European Union pays its respects today to those in mourning. Remembrance of the genocide is important both as a comfort to those who have lost loved ones, and as a symbol that such events are in direct opposition to our values. Srebrenica is an annual reminder of our duty to build reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
