The High Representative and EU Special Representative, Miroslav Lajčák, welcomed amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law on the Execution of Criminal Sanctions adopted today by the RS National Assembly. The amendments bring entity legislation in line with state-level legislation. The High Representative and EU Special Representative asked the entity parliaments to make these changes exactly a week ago when imposing amendments to State-level legislation. “I am very pleased that the RSNA has acted so rapidly in its last session before the summer recess,” the High Representative and EU Special Representative said. The amendments relate to the regime regarding leave for certain categories of offenders. They also make evidence gathered by experts in the Prosecutor’s Office admissible in court. The High Representative and EU Special Representative deliberately left these legislative changes, that were not time sensitive, to the entity parliaments while imposing other amendments. He expects the Federation Parliament to follow suit.
