The High Representative/EU Special Representative condemns the recent violent assaults on an elderly woman and a Franciscan friar in Sarajevo. A full and thorough investigation of each individual case by competent authorities is needed and should result in those responsible being brought to justice. Police investigations are underway and the OHR/EUSR expects concrete results.

OHR/EUSR calls on political parties to await the conclusion of these ongoing investigations and refrain from issuing unsubstantiated or politically motivated statements, which are detrimental to interethnic relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
