A third failure to send the budget of the BiH institutions to Parliament is imminent if the BiH Presidency Members are not able to find common language and adopt the budget at the BH Presidency session tomorrow. Failure to agree the draft 2008 State Budget will have a detrimental effect on BH institutions and send a negative message to BiH’s public and the country’s international partners. This situation shows that key BiH institutions are not ready to engage in dialogue, to coordinate and find compromise on a key political issue. This is not the European way. BH’s institutions must show the necessary level of responsibility for the functionality of the State. This budget has been passed by the Council of Ministers. It needs to move forward into the Parliament as soon as possible. Therefore, the budget proposal needs to be determined by the Presidency tomorrow.
