High Representative and EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčák met with the HSS-NHI Chairman Ivan Krndelj in Sarajevo today.

The meeting focused on the need to carry out constitutional reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina – a need that nobody denies, but which also arouses diametrically opposed views from political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The High Representative and EU Special Representative reiterated his position that the future constitutional setup can only be a domestic product, which will be the result of dialogue and compromise and to the satisfaction of all in BiH. 

In addition to a discussion of the structure of the country as a whole within the context of the constitutional reform, the meeting also addressed the status of Brčko District. All necessary efforts should be undertaken to achieve progress on this issue and provide a solution to the status of Brčko District.
