Inzko: Delaying This Country’s European Integration Is Unacceptable

Continuing a series of meetings with local political leaders in connection with the forthcoming meeting of the Peace Implementation Council, High Representative and EU Special Representative Valentin Inzko met with President of the SBiH, Haris Silajdžić, in Sarajevo today.

One of discussed issues at today’s meeting was State and Defence property as key unresolved issue in the «five plus two» agenda. The High Representative and EU Special Representative stressed the need for the engagement of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s political leaders since the issue of State and Defence property has a direct bearing on the process of OHR transition.

“Leaders need to reach mutual understanding, in terms of what should be done, immediately,” Inzko said. “Firstly, the pre-election period must be used to pave the way for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration, and not used to place obstacles in that path”.
