High Representative and EU Special Representative Valentin Inzko wrote to Dunja Mijatović today to congratulate on her appointment as the OSCE’s Representative on Freedom of the Media in Vienna.

“I am confident that your commendable professional achievements, both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, will be an important asset in your new tasks of observing media developments in OSCE participating States and advocating full compliance with best practices and commitments in respect of freedom of expression and freedom of media”, Inzko wrote in a letter to Dunja Mijatović.

Mijatović, an expert in media law and regulation, was appointed by the 56 OSCE participating states on 11 March as the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media. She previously worked for Communications Regulatory Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an agency that she helped founding in 1998.
