Inzko Meets Josipović: BiH’s Sovereignty Is Undisputable

The International Community is committed to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in line with the Dayton Peace Agreement, the High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, and the Croatian President, Ivo Josipović said today.

HR/EUSR Inzko and President Josipović met at the OHR in Sarajevo today.

Briefing the Croatian President on political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the HR/EUSR said that a large number of necessary reforms that are part of the EU integration agenda have been put on hold due to a clear lack of commitment on the part of BiH political leaders.

The participants agreed that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s sovereignty is undisputable, and talk of dissolution or Entity secession is unacceptable and must stop. The International Community is committed and determined to help the country move forward and achieve stability and prosperity, but the country’s leaders must show the same commitment and the same determination.

The HR/EUSR congratulated President Josipović on his victory in the Croatian presidential elections.

He also expressed his thanks to Croatia and the Croatian authorities for their support for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“When it comes to European integration, Croatia is the leader in the region and has shown on many occasions that it is willing to share its experience with Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the HR/EUSR said. “Good neighbourly relations are the way forward for both Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
