Bosnia and Herzegovina’s No 1 Priority

The no 1 priority for Bosnia and Herzegovina these days is that citizens on Sunday go out and vote. Voting is one of the most powerful tools citizens have to influence their country’s and their own future.

“On 3 October, the real power is not with the politicians or the High Representative, but with you, the voters“, High Representative and EU Special Representative Valentin Inzko said today. “Please, get out and vote on Sunday! It is not only your democratic right, but also your responsibility – for your own, your country’s and future generations’ sake“, he added.

„The politicians you vote for are the people who will represent you at home  and abroad – choose them carefully! A high voter-turnout will show them, and the world, that you care.“

HR/EUSR Inzko emphasized the importance of the elections for getting Bosnia and Herzegovina back on track for economic recovery and EU-membership. „Do not let yourself be distracted by divisive speech. Focus on those issues, that concern you most in your daily lives, be it education, employment or social services. You can influence the parties directly by making your own, individual choice from the party lists“, Inzko stressed. Look carefully at the lists, I am sure you will find candidates who deserve your trust.“
