HR/EUSR Inzko Visits Zitomislici and Mostar

High Representative and EU Special Representative Valentin Inzko visited the Serbian Orthodox Monastery Zitomislici today to give support to return in Mostar and the broader Herzegovina region.

The HR/EUSR emphasized that religious communities can play a constructive role in supporting return and reconciliation. Return in BiH has already been a success story, with about a million people getting their property back. All those who still wish to return should be given all the support they need.

“Tolerance rooted in belief is characterized by strength and the capacity to empathize with others,” said HR/EUSR today. “The spiritual impulse to meet challenges through solidarity, through cooperation and through tolerance, is truly woven into the fabric of society in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

Following meetings with Sarajevo and Banja Luka based political parties the High Representative/EU Special Representative today met representatives of political parties based in Mostar to urge for the rapid formation of government at the State level which will promote the country’s economic and social advancement, strengthen the rule of law and accelerate Bosnia and Herzegovina’s progress in the EU and the Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
