High Representative and EU Special Representative (HR/EUSR) for Bosnia and Herzegovina Valentin Inzko is consulting with high-ranking party representatives from the Federation (FBiH) this week. The objective of these consultations is to insist on the need for parties to overcome the current blockade in government formation at Canton, FBiH and State levels without further delay.

In separate meetings in Sarajevo today HR/EUSR Inzko met with SDP leader Zlatko Lagumdzija and NSRzB Vice President Jerko Ivankovic Lijanovic.

“The current situation is untenable”, said HR/EUSR Inzko today. “Assembly members and political parties in four Cantons cannot hold the Federation and BiH authorities hostage indefinitely. These Cantons must urgently appoint their delegates to the FBiH House of Peoples.”

HR/EUSR Inzko will continue discussions with party leaders in the upcoming period.
