High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini and Commissioner Hahn start their visit to BiH, meet with members of civil society

HR/VP Mogherini and Commissioner Hahn started their first official visit to BiH in their new mandates by hosting a meeting in the EU House with members of various civil society sectors – entrepreneurs, media, youth, women, LGBTI persons, unemployed persons, trades unions – where they exchanged views on the current socio-economic situation in the country. Organisations participating included among others the Centre for Investigative reporting, Mediacentar, Studio 88 Mostar, Transparency International, Sarajevo Open Centre, Udruzene NGO, Workers’ Union Zenica, SASA Trade doo, Atlantbh, Zenica Association of Employers and the Banja Luka Innovation Centre. People who had attended the ‘Compact for Growth Job Fair’ in Zenica organised together with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in November, and people who attended plenums earlier in the year also participated.

The two officials were particularly interested in their counterparts’ feedback on the Compact for Growth and Jobs in BiH – a practical agenda outlining the necessary economic reform measures to be implemented in order to revive the country’s economic development and the EU integration process.
