Month of Italian culture in BiH

The Italian Embassy, within the framework of the Italian Presidency of the EU, presented throughout November the second edition of the Month of Italian Culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina: a festival of music, cinema, art and literature.

The Month was opened with the exhibition “Shots from the world” realised in collaboration with the Association Simone Tetti at Delikatesna Radnja in Sarajevo. The exhibition told the out-of-the-ordinary story of Simone Tetti: a young Italian photographer, traveller and aero-spatial engineer born in Rome in 1982.

Teatro Lirico “Giuseppe Verdi” from Trieste performed at the Narodno Pozoriste on 10 November performing Rossini’s “Stabat Mater” with a chorus of 100 and 4 soloists, directed by Maestro Gianluigi Gelmetti.

The Month also included the “XIV Week of the Italian Language”, organized in collaboration with the Swiss Embassy under the patronage of the Presidency of the Italian Republic.

Italian Film Week took place from 21 to 24 November in the framework of the Month with the latest most successful Italian movies, the exhibition “Alan Ford in BiH: past and present” dedicated to the famous Italian comics invented by Max Bunker, and many other cultural events.

All the events were free of charge and took place in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar and Tuzla.
