EU Commissioner Štefan Füle visits Bosnia and Herzegovina

Štefan Füle, the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, will make his first visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, 18 March 2010.

Commissioner Füle will meet with the BiH Presidency Members, Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers and Entity Prime Ministers.

The interlocutors will discuss European integration and visa liberalisation process and also exchange opinions on the BiH constitutional amendments and Law on the Population and Household Census.

Ahead of the visit the Commissioner stated: “Bosnia and Herzegovina needs to find the strength and wisdom to reinvent itself; to move from the Dayton age to an European age. This means that political leaders should look beyond divisions of the past into a shared vision of a country consolidating its achievements; reinvigorating reforms needed for its own good and pursuing its dream of rejoining Europe.”

Commissioner will also meet the High Representative and EU Special Representative Valentin Inzko, as well as the Heads of the EU diplomatic missions accredited to BiH.

Mr. Füle will leave Sarajevo for Pristina continuing his regional tour.
