First meeting of Steering board of project “Trebizat Heritage Trails” was held in Mostar today. 

Apart from presentation of entire project, whose duration is foreseen for 25 months, the meeting was also dedicated to presentation of project plan and working operations for the first six months of implementation.

Project leader is Regional development agency for Herzegovina REDAH, and the partners are municipalities Grude, Ljubuski and Capljina, as well as Association for regional rural development, Herzegovina STAP whilst the associate of the projects is federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism. The project is worth 362,000 EUR out of which 300,000 is financed by the EU.

General goal of the project is to contribute to economic development of Herzegovina as a tourist region as well as to develop new and wholesome tourism product that will enrich tourism offer of Herzegovina and entire BiH. Specific goals of the project are to improve the content of regional tourism offer and to increase the number of tourists and overnight stays in Herzegovina. 

Implementation of this project is expected to enable local participants recognition of cultural and historical as well as natural heritage as an option for development of tourism as well as to develop a wholesome tourist product “Trebizat heritage trails: Heart of Herzegovina” that will be positioned in the market as such. At the same time members of “Trebizat heritage trails” should be able to offer excellent service to tourists and visitors that is specific for this region.

Project will also develop specific thematic tours in duration from 1 to 5 days where tourists and visitors will experience rich and interesting content.

Apart from Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism dr.sc. Nevenko Herceg, the meeting was also attended by other members of the Steering Board REDAH Director Ivan Jurilj, Mayor of Grude Municipality Viktor Maric, Mayor of Ljubuski Municipality Nevenko Barbaric, Mayor of Capljina Municipality dr. Smiljan Vidic and Chair of Herzegovina STAP Davorin Medic.
