To Europe without Visa

They welcomed the historical December 15th 2010 with fireworks and music. From this day on they can travel to the Schengen zone visa-free. In honor of this occasion, Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized last night a concert in Sarajevo: “To Europe without visa”, as a way to celebrate the visa-free regime together with its inhabitants. Performers such as Armin Muzaferija, Enver Lugavić Kice and Semir Cerić Koke entertained the audience.

“For BiH citizens visa-free travel means no more waiting in lines in front of the embassies, no more visa fees, and no more collecting of supporting documents such as invitation letters, tickets and paying for their translation. All you need to travel to Schengen countries is biometric passport”, said Charge d’ Affairs of the EU Delegation to BiH Boris Iarochevitch.

“Visa liberalization sent a nice message, and that message is that BiH citizens are welcome to visit Europe, to visit their relatives, which is also a signal that BiH is welcome to the European Union. The gate is open”, said Valentin Inzko, High Representative and EU Special Representative in BiH.

According to the BiH Minister of Security Sadik Ahmetović, this was a great historical moment for all citizens of BiH, a moment when they become free and equal.

Young BiH musician Armin Muzaferija said that the visa-free travel regime means as much to him as to any other BiH citizen who works abroad. “I canceled or changed a lot of concerts because of visas. We lost a lot of time, effort and money for getting visas, but now it’s all behind us. This is realy a great relief for us”, said Muzaferija.
