Invitation for applications announced for submission of project proposals for the Community Lifelong Learning Programme

Within the Lifelong Learning Programme, an invitation for applications for submission of new project proposals for 2011 was published on 27 October 2010. Total budget of the Invitation is 1065 million euro.

For some of the centrally managed activities (through the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency in Brussels), in addition to applicants coming from the Programme member states, the Invitation is also open for applicants from third counties, non-members of the Programme, including the applicants from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Third country applicants may only participate as partners (project application must be submitted by an applicant from the Lifelong Learning Programme member state). Maximum amount of funding that may be allotted to partners from third countries, as a part of the project, shall not exceed 25,000 euro (for all partners involved). Participation of third country partners has the aim to improve the quality of education and training in Europe.

The Lifelong Learning is the European Union programme in the field of education and vocational training. The programme includes the following sub-programmes:

  • Comenius (support for preschools, elementary and secondary education)
  • Erasmus (support for higher education)
  • Leonardo da Vinci (support for vocational education and training)
  • Grundtvig (support for adult education).

In addition to the afore listed sub-programmes, the Lifelong Learning Programme also includes the Transversal Programme (which supports the afore listed sub programmes in anticipation of achieving the best results through cooperation and innovations in the field of lifelong learning, foreign languages, development of innovative information and communication technologies, dissemination and exploitation of results), and the Jean Monnet Programme (support for university-level teaching and research projects in European integration studies in EU countries and beyond).

The Lifelong Learning programme is open to all participants in the educational process, at all levels, such as pupils, students, teachers and other staff, educational institutions, vocational education and training institutions, non-profit and nongovernmental organisations, associations of students, parents and teachers, companies, organisations and individuals involved in adult education.

Activities open for participation of BH applicants, within the published Public Notice, pertain to multilateral projects and multilateral networks activities within the Comenius, Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, and Grundtvig sub-programmes, for which the project proposal submission deadline is 28 February 2011 (12 o’clock, Central-European Time).

Within the published Invitation, applicants from BiH are also eligible to participate in the following activities of the Transversal sub-programme: multilateral networks – politics, multilateral projects and multilateral networks – languages, multilateral projects and multilateral networks – information and communication technologies, multilateral projects – valorisation, for which the project proposal submission deadline is 31 March 2011 (12 o’clock, Central-European Time).

Applicants from BiH are also eligible to participate in the Jean Monnet sub-programme, for which the project proposal submission deadline is 15 February 2011.
