EUSR supports Four Towns Youth Programme

The Office of the EU Special Representative in BiH supported the youth initiative Four Towns Programme which gathered 20 young people from Višegrad, Jelah, Bratunac, Tuzla, Srebrenica and Sarajevo from 1-5 November 2015. They worked together in Višegrad and Sarajevo and explored ways that arts and culture can be used to developing a more inclusive and creative future for youth.

The initiative is a continuation of activities from August this year, when more than a hundred young people from seven countries (BiH, Romania, Serbia, Italy, Georgia, Portugal and the UK) came together in Višegrad and Srebrenica to develop their creativity, skills and understanding of equality and inclusion through cultural and arts activities. The aim of the project The Complete Freedom of Truth is to use culture and arts to provide skills training and cultural awareness for youth by developing their own creativity. The project is led through a process of non-formal learning, combining the highest quality of cultural and arts practice, inspired and facilitated by highly gifted and experienced partners, practitioners and artists.

From 1-5 November, through various workshops, performances and discussions led by professional artists, the youth improved their artistic skills and learned more about how to plan and design their projects, while developing ideas of equality, tolerance, democracy and human right through the arts.
