Visit to BiH by the Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn

The Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, visited Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, 8 May.

On his second visit to the country, the Commissioner was welcomed by the BiH Presidency Member Bakir Izetbegović and representatives of Cabinets of the Chairman and Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić and Dragan Čović.
Commissioner Hahn arrived to Sarajevo in order to discuss the next steps on BiH’s EU integration with top officials.

“The focus will be on an initial reform agenda which would cover key socio-economic issues as spelled out in the Compact for Growth and Jobs, to tackle rule of law and governance challenges and to address functional weaknesses, including through the setting up of the coordination mechanism on EU matters,” the Commissioner said. He also underlined his personal support, as the Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, to Bosnia in Herzegovina in these highly important upcoming events regarding the EU accession process.

Commissioner Hahn paid a visit to BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he met with Igor Crnadak, Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH; Minister Crnadak and Commissioner Hahn held a joint press conference.

During the day Commissioner Hahn also met with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirko Sarovic, and attended a dinner with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Denis Zvizdic, and the Entity Prime Ministers – Fadil Novalic (SDA) and Zeljka Cvijanovic (RS).
