EUSR supports Kid’s Fest parade in Banja Luka

The annual Kid’s fest in Bosnia and Herzegovina expanded its activities this year with a parade for children in central Banja Luka. Led by majorettes and a band, hundreds of children represented their schools at the event. It was opened by the Deputy Mayor of Banja Luka, Jasna Brkic, and the organiser of Kid’s Fest Susanne Prahl.

The EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the sponsors of the Kid’s Fest and was represented at the event by Head of Communication Andy McGuffie. Mr McGuffie said:

“This was a super way for the children to end the school year. The aim of the day was to show that Banja Luka was a friendly city for children, and there’s no doubt that the result was achieved. It was really impressive to see hundreds of children with colourful signs take over the main street in the city. We’re very glad to be part of such an inclusive and joyful event.”

Also present at the parade were long standing friends of the Kid’s Fest such as the Sarajevo Cantonal Police and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).
