Euro Basket Cup tournament continued in Tuzla

The Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Info Centre are marking Europe Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina with numerous sports and cultural events across the country.

After basketball tournament in Mostar, the Europe Week activities continued with “Euro Basket Cup” in Tuzla.

Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Dr. Renzo Daviddi together with Tuzla Mayor Jasmin Imamovic opened the tournament
“The aim of these events is to bring European Union to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and make them part of the international celebration of Europe Day. With the inclusion of young people, we are also emphasising the importance of future of peace and prosperity for them” Daviddi said adding that the main message of the EU week is that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a clear perspective of becoming EU member state.

Mayor Imamovic thanked EU for enabling Tuzla kids to enjoy this tournament.

Exciting tournament featured girls and boys from Tuzla elementary schools. In boys’ competition Elementary School Jala won the Cup, Elementary School Centar was second while Catholic School Centre Sveti Franjo was third. In girls’ competition best team was Catholic School Center Sveti Franjo second place went to Elementary School Centre while Elementary School Miladije finished third.
