EU supports entrepreneurial learning in the educational systems in BiH

The inauguration conference for the project Entrepreneurial Learning in BiH Education Systems – Phase II, funded by the EU with 940,180 Euros through IPA 2012, was held on 13 March 2014 in Jahorina.

The project will assist in the implementation of the BiH 2011 to 2015 Strategy for Entrepreneurial Learning in Education Systems. The project aims to introduce entrepreneurial learning in formal education based upon a cross-curricular approach at International Standard Classification of Education Levels 2 and 3, as well as in non-formal education as a part of lifelong entrepreneurial learning commitment to small and medium enterprises support.

Participants at the conference was addressed by the Assistant BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adnan Husić, the Assistant BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Dragan Milović, the Head of Operations Section for Social Development, Civil Society and Cross Border Co-operation in the EU Delegation to BiH, Natalia Dianiskova; and a representative of South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, Igor Nikolovski.

”We are at the beginning of one more project financed by the EU dealing with entrepreneurial learning. First project financed under IPA 2007 has proven that cooperation between two sectors economy in particular small and medium enterprises development and education sector can function very well“, emphasised Dianiskova in her opening remarks.

She also emphasized the economic development of BiH as one of the future EU priorities: ”Further economic development of the country, increased employability of labour force, development of skills for the labour force will be our priorities in future“, adding that the successful implementation of the project “Entrepreneurial Learning in BiH Systems phase II“ can establish a good basis for IPA II projects in BiH.

The aim of the project is to further increase public awareness of the entrepreneurial spirit and also to strengthen co-operation between the education systems and business community in BiH, creating sustainable links between schools and the business sector and institutionalizing these partnerships at the highest policy levels.
