On arrival at the EU House in Sarajevo for a meeting with political party leaders, the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, Štefan Füle, said to media representatives:
“Good afternoon. Thank you very much for coming and waiting here. I came today to underline a continuing engagement with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Continuing engagement helping Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European path. In a couple of minutes, I will have yet another important meeting with the political leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We’ll be talking about the open issues, the list is getting longer of open issues between the European Union and Bosnia and Herzegovina. We’ll be focusing on ‘Sejdic-Finci’ because the path towards the European Union leads through addressing this issue which is basically about non-discrimination.
“There are no limits to the European Union’s engagement towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I hope very much that politicians from Bosnia and Herzegovina today will show that there are no limits to reaching a compromise that will allow Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens to go forward to the European Union.
