Graduation ceremony of the 12th generation of the European Regional Master’s Degree Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe

26 Masters of Arts have graduated in Sarajevo on 26 October as the 12th generation of the European Regional Master’s Degree Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe (ERMA). The event, taking place in the University of Sarajevo, was attended by academics, past and future students in the programme and representatives of the state institutions and diplomatic community.

Welcome addresses at the ceremony included those from the management of the university, Natalia Dianiskova, Head of Operations Section for Social Development, Civil Society and Cross Border Cooperation at the EU Delegation to BiH, Ruggero Corrias, the Italian Ambassador to BiH as well as other officials representing the programme.

Until now, over 325 students, mostly from the region, EU and beyond, have graduated from the Programme. The students will receive double diplomas from the Universities of Sarajevo and Bologna.

The ERMA Programme was established by the joint efforts of several universities in South- East Europe and the EU. Since 2000, it has been financed by the EU from the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its DGCS/UTL offices. Total value of allocated funds is over 6.5 million Euros.
