Kid’s Fest’s 10th anniversary marked at reception hosted by Ambassador Sorensen

The Head of EU Delegation in BiH and EU Special Representative, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, hosted a reception in his official Residence on Thursday, 24 October 2013, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Kids’ Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kids’

Fest is the largest festival for children and youth in the country.

On the occasion, Ambassador Sorensen said:

“Kid’s Fest is such a valuable contribution to society in Bosnia and Herzegovina because it is a place where children from all Bosnia and Herzegovina can express their creativity, learn new things or simply socialize and make friends. For this we owe much to the vision and determination of Susanne Prahl and her team who year after year are making Kid’s Fest happen.”

The director and inceptor of the Festival, Sussane Prahl, said that in the beginning Kid’s Fest was just an idea of a single person and today it is the largest youth event in the Balkans. “Kid’s Festival involves 40.000 children per year, more than 60 partner organizations: all by the ties of friendship. The Kid’s Festival generates global synergy as much for the participants, as much for the makers. Nearly 1000 people work, mostly volunteers, to make Kid’s Festival, an unforgettable star shining in the spirits of the children all over the year”, added Mrs. Prahl.

The reception was attended by the Festival’s partners and members of diplomatic, business and cultural community in BiH.
