Researcher’s Night this year in Sarajevo and Banja Luka

Are you engaged in science or interested in research of any kind? Are you free on Friday, 27th September and are looking for a fun night out?

You are invited to the “Researchers Night” during which over 300 cities in Europe come together to celebrate science, scientific research and achievements.

In Sarajevo, the event will take place at Vilsonovo šetalište, while in Banja Luka science will be celebrated at Petar Kočić park and Trg Krajine, as well as at Staklenac and the Music Pavilion.

Since 2005, the European Union is supporting and funding this initiative through its FP7 Programme, with the aim of promoting scientific research, encouraging young people to consider careers in research and raising awareness of the effects that scientific research has on our everyday life.

The theme of this year events is “Horror in science“, with the common slogan “Science is horrific!”. The organisers – Oxfam office in BiH, Hydro-Engineering Institute Sarajevo (HEIS) and Tidea doo Banja Luka, have created a fun and exciting night out in both cities.

This is an opportunity for all those who are interested or are engaged in scientific research to present their work and inventions in one place, while for all visitors it is the opportunity to spend unusual and interesting family educational evening out. Many interesting activities are organised, such as treasure hunt, crime investigation,   scientists’ party, 3D street art, time capsules, star gazing, science-fiction quiz, while also a coffee with the scientists will be on offer, as well as a number of interesting prizes are made available for participants in various experiments and competitions. Therefore, there will be something for each visitor that joins us at Researchers Night, 27th September from 17.00 in Sarajevo and Banja Luka.
