Prize Contest/Competition: Young Innovators: The Best Innovations

 

A competition of young innovators from all parts of BiH launched on the occasion of the European Week of Mobility / EU Mobility Week (16- 22 September) will, along with students, “enter” schools in first days of September at the beginning of new school year.  The information on competition will be placed at schools’ web sites and FB pages.

The competition is launched by the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and in cooperation with BiH Association of innovators.

Information on competition, participation rules and prizes:

On the occasion of the European Week of Mobility / EU Mobility Week (16 – 22 September), the Delegation of  the European Union to  Bosnia and Herzegovina is launching a competition  for young innovators and the best innovation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of the competition is to offer a platform for young innovators to showcase their work, and to highlight sustainable transport and energy efficiency. 

Prizes are as follows:

• 1st Prize – 1,000 KM
• 2nd Prize – 500 KM
• Special Prize – 300 KM will be awarded for innovations related to energy efficiency and sustainable transport.

Participation rules

Any Innovator in Bosnia and Herzegovina and any BiH citizen aged up to 25 years is eligible to participate in the competition.

To participate, applicants must submit the following by post (address: Boram, Ćumurija 2, Sarajevo, for “Young Innovators: The Best Innovation”) or by E-mail: euinovatori@gmail.com by 17 September, 2013.

1.  Name, address and contact details of participants along with a few sentences giving your personal, academic and professional background;

2.  Evidence of patent for the innovation, approved by the Institute for Intellectual Property (of Bosnia and Herzegovina or any other state) with  the necessary supporting documents or

3.  An application for a patent already presented to the competent Institute for Intellectual property and accompanying documentation;

4.  Description of the innovation with appropriate explanation (photographs, sketches, plans etc);

5.  A model of the innovation or the finished product, which can be exhibited on 20 September.

Point 2 above refers to innovations that are already patented or that are in the process of being patented. Point 3 above refers to innovations for which a patent application has been submitted to the relevant institutions for the protection of intellectual property.

An independent five-member jury will evaluate innovations. The award ceremony will be held on 20th September 2013 during a Special Exhibition organised as part of EU Mobility Week where the best innovations will be exhibited.

EU Mobility Week is an annual initiative that is implemented with the support of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environmental Protection. The goal of the initiative is to encourage local governments to adopt and promote measures that contribute to the development of sustainable transport, and to encourage the public to use alternative forms of transport. The final day of the initiative, 22 September, is celebrated in all participating cities; this year’s theme is “In town without my car”.
