The European Commission is seeking the views of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and other stakeholders on the future policy of the EU with regard to support to CSOs in the field of development cooperation in partner countries. This future policy will be adopted later in the fall 2012.

In the context of the preparation for this policy, the Directorate-General for Development and Cooperation – EuropeAid (DG DEVCO, D2) undertakes an online stakeholder consultations based on the “Consultation Paper on CSO in development “. The paper is available in EN, FR and SP on http://ec.europa.eu/europeaid/how/public-consultations/6405_en.htm.

It is also posted on the ‘I fight poverty’ page on Facebook and on CISOCH.

We encourage you to broadly disseminate this link and respond to the consultation. We are particularly seeking contributions from local CSOs.  Stakeholders can respond to all or only to part of the questions.

Your views are important for us so please do send your contribution to DEVCO-CSO-CONSULTATION@ec.europa.eu before the 7th of May 2012.

The contributions will be published in a report that will be published on the website of DG DEVCO by the end of July 2012.

Also there will be a working session organised in the near future, but you will be informed in due time.

We look forward to hearing about your views and experiences. Make your voice heard in Europe!
